There are so many amazing things about the 033 community. But it’s the women of CF that really are the heart of the place. Notwithstanding the poor showing in the 2018 Open, the 033 women are, without exception, incredible, especially the 5 am crew, past and present. I had expected to find tough men doing CF. I did not expect to be blown away by the strength, resilience and kindness of its ladies. CF was not a natural progression for me. I never played team sports nor considered myself an athlete. My strength is in consistency, showing up. And every morning, I would come in to find with this chatty group, starting the day off in a powerful way. They left everything else behind for that hour, and just enjoyed their time together, lifting heavy things and getting it done. You don’t know true grit until you see a very pregnant lady doing box jumps, handstand pushups or cycling a barbell. I was impressed. I was inspired. I was honored to be part of it all. I still am.


There are so many reasons why CF is so important! I love the members, the coaches, and the workouts. I typically work out in the evening and going to the gym after work is the perfect way to shift my brain out of work mode. And during the past year, with such uncertain times, having a regular workout routine helped to ground me and bring a sense of normalcy. I love the strength components of CF – something I never really focused on before and with it, I feel more confident. And the people – I’ve been able to meet some amazing people and develop some great friends through the CF community. I’m excited to continue to learn and grow at CF033.


It’s my favorite way to start the day, for the longest time I HATED mornings and getting up and getting ready was a process. getting to go do something fun at a place with great people and positive energy makes such a difference.


The progress the 033 coaching team has pulled out of me in just a year is unfathomable to me and motivates me to keep going. I love the way the community pushes and motivates each other past mental limits.


The fact that I get to workout with a bunch of fun, successful and motivated people is truly inspiring, and why I keep coming back. That, and the enteral hope that Tobi will someday coach topless.


Where else can you go to train (so early in the morning) with so many amazing, like-minded people – and start each day in the best way possible? In the nearly 10 years I have driven over that bridge (from Wethersfield to Glastonbury), I have felt blessed each and every day knowing that that was going to be the best hour of my day. I have learned so much from this sport, from the amazing coaches and from this community of strong, dedicated people.


If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.
